Not gonna lie—there’s always going to be a bit of nostalgia from gamers like me who grew up in the 1990s and 2000s. There was something about connecting your Gameboy Colors to trade Pokemon (back when there were only 150, and wireless wasn’t a thing) and playing 4-player split screen on 007: Goldeneye (yes, I was a screen-watcher, and I was good at it). Things got even more interesting years later when my friends and I gathered up our Xbox consoles in my basement and had all the jocks over so we could kick their asses in LAN Halo tournaments. Gaming was a bonding experience, and the tech at the time required coordination and physical proximity (no Xbox live back then, and none of us really did the PC gaming thing).
