Hey all, Dylan here. It’s nice to be writing about a piece of technology that already exists, has been tested by many users, and seems to work flawlessly. What I’m thinking of in particular is the new Page Token feature suite enabled by our migration to the Cosmos IBC environment.
The story is simple enough: when we started the project, we envisioned it in the Cosmos environment from day 1 but the technology needed to put us there in a productive way didn’t quite exist yet. So we waited and built things on Ethereum for a while because the EVM was more familiar and easier to understand at the time.
Fast forward 3 years and here we are today, with the $PAGE token live in the Osmosis ecosystem.
There are two core, primary utilities that are now available to users for the first time. Onchain governance is a powerful tool for broadcasting what PageDAO is up to and onboarding new users, and you can find PageDAO’s onchain governance on the Osmosis blockchain, enabled by DAODAO.

The main reason to stake the Page Token today is to receive a voice in governance. To take action onchain, the PageDAO must reach a quorum of 20% and a proposal must pass with at least 51% of votes. Presently, the Core Team are the primary stakers participating in governance, but staking rewards are being investigated and budgeted for and when they are able to go live, participation in staking will be better incentivized. As more and more of the PageDAO technology transitions from research to existing product lifecycle status, products will be built upon the $PAGE token. In order to have a voice in this process, owning $PAGE and participating in the community is not enough - users must stake to participate.
The second main piece of utility PageDAO gets from Osmosis is the liquidity pool that manages $PAGE and $OSMO tokens people have locked into the smart contract. PageDAO has deployed 30M new $PAGE tokens this year to make up for the deviation from schedule that the bear market necessitated, but this year may mark the last issuance of $PAGE on a non-algorithmic basis. We can’t know what the future holds, but we can see from the present trends that the market reception is already better on Osmosis in 2024 than it was on Ethereum Mainnet in 2021.
All in all, it is wonderful to see the $PAGE token alive and thriving in a new ecosystem.
