Poetry.
They've given her up for dead several times in recent centuries, and it must be said that, in reality, she wasn't doing very well. On the other hand, she is an elderly lady; she has been traveling on inspiration for as long as writing has existed, and sometimes she needs to relax a little. And she takes advantage of these periods to catch up with the times, update herself, evolve. And so here she is again today: Poetry, alive and with a new modern dress, dancing in web3, arm in arm with algorithms and visual art. And who would have thought, people are starting to recognize her!
-"But isn't that Poetry? I thought she was dead." -
-"I remembered her as different, but look how beautiful she is today!"-
And so today we talk about Poetry—that strikes the eye as well as the ear. Poetry which celebrates its umpteenth rebirth, certainly through prominent exponents in web3, those who have turned the stage lights on the word with more and more X spaces about poetry, but also through that community of emerging poets who every day publish their works on the blockchain and who, thanks to the independence and ease of publication, continue to write, learn, and experiment.
Poetry celebrated excellently on March with:
“Thirty Six” by Pierre Gervois
However, I don't want to sit here and reminisce about individual releases or projects, because I might forget someone. The works that will be cited do not express any preference towards this or that uncited author, consider it just coincidence. For a more complete collection of the works that are published weekly around web3 you can take a look at Arjan Tupan’s fantastic work “On-Chain Poetry”.
So, what are we doing here? Let’s build this space together! Write down suggestions, topics, that you would like to address monthly. Let's celebrate Poetry by writing it!
“Dance to new notes with the usual companions, Poetry and Poets, admire them in their new clothes, words and future, Poetry today is dancing on the chain, let yourself be dragged onto the track!”
